The larger shallow earthquakes usually occur to the NW of the asthenosphere (deep EQ) swarm locations.

For instance, usually after we see a swarm of deep events in Papua New Guinea, we see a larger shallow earthquake strike NW in the Philippines or Japan.

Another example, usually after we see a swarm of deep events along the Chile/Argentina border, we see a larger shallow earthquake strike NW in Peru to central America.

The unrest event happens back and forth like a tennis match, as the pressure comes from deep within the Earth (from a yet unknown source) the transfer of the force must be causing a displacement of the Pacific plate from ‘beneath’.

The area beneath the plates, above the liquid molten core of the Earth, the semi-melt area known as the “Asthenosphere” is the interacting point between the fluid, and the solid.
